Still practicing the joystick but overall it’s okey. There is no basket attachment and unable to lift both the armrest. It’s light and easy to carry on.
Well, it's just a battery! Charged it and it works. I alternate with the original one so always have power available. The batteries only stay on the charger long enough to get a full charge, Do not leave them on the charger 24/7! It's best to let them cycle up & down.
So first -the negative. We read all the material and was under the impression that the remote control would be utilized to auto fold this unit. In fact we spent20 minutes on the instructions trying to figure out what we were-doing wrong. Eventually we saw a very small note. Not for this model. I am a retired first responder who got injured. We struggled at first but were able to manipulate it closed. As for the chair itself. Fantastic! I reside in a remote area in Happy Jack Az. I was able to travel the chair up my gravel driveway and traveled 1/2 mile on dirt road to my neighbors home, with no problems at all. Thank you for getting it to me. We have a big jeep club up here. So now I can park my chair along side the rubicon group.
The spare parts looks just like the original. Y’all did a good job. I will order again from you all. I know where to find spare parts now.
Love this chair. Have already had a few people ask about where we got the chair. It's easy to fold and put into the car. My grandmother who is 82 is able to operate the chair easily as well. Additionally, the shipping is so fast. It got to our home within two business days!
I ordered another battery for my lightweight chair which has help my wife get around alot. Replacement chair from you folks in the near future. Thanks for your help.
Am loving my new chair thank you so much I started to think it wasn't coming but I got it today and am loving ❤️ it may God bless you all and Happy New Year's 🙏🙏🙏.I will be ordering another in the near future thank you so much
My husband is a 77 year old veteran and the VA supplied a scooter some years ago, but it’s bulky and he wanted this chair to navigate around our senior independent apartment complex.
Anyway, we had this huge box delivered and we were all excited assembling his new chair….etc. BUT the very next day FedEx arrived on our doorstep with another huge box containing the identical chair… I ran to check my bank account and there was a SECOND charge on our credit card! ($1,599.00)
Our immediate response was “OMG” …. Ordering this on Amazon, the billing issue, even the geographical differences (we live in Fl and Rubicon is in California) this was going to be a logistical nightmare to get a refund!
But to our pleasant surprise when we contacted Rubicon (they take messages and return their calls) Their response was immediate. We had at least a dozen phone contacts because FedEx kept screwing up the pick up times because we’re a gated community and the office was closed, etc.
We dealt with a gentleman named Carlos, he was courteous and prompt returning our calls within an hour. So, even though it was an obvious error on their end, they corrected it with no hassles on our end. We received our refund last night.
That’s why my review says “Excellent customer service”! And my husband is happy with his chair!//. ….
I’m resubmitting my review… I don’t get the negative feedback… my husband has had his chair since last summer…. He uses it probably 1/2 dozen times a day taking the dog in and out… visiting neighbors, mail, etc. We load it up to take out to lunch, mall, doctors, etc. (it is heavier than anticipated/ approx 80 lbs) we get assistance loading it. It’s been a game changer for him staying independent.
At first I wanted to return it because controls are on the right side. My mom is left handed and found it very difficult to use right handed. However after doing some searching on YouTube I realized I could switch controls to the left side and it has worked out great for her. The instructions that came with did not tell you that they could be switched. My only issue is that it is very heavy and hard for me to put in and out of car. But the struggle is worth it to see her freedom going around in the store or going out with me for walks.
We bought this for my husband to be independent when we went places. Best decision we made. This chair is light enough for me to pick up by myself, fits in the back of a small SUV just by folding down the arms and goes anywhere! Battery can last up to 5 days days of daily use for Dr appointments, shopping, etc. Goes through grass, up hills and over ruts. We take it to the park and down trails. Have been on a cruise with it and it was small enough for others to get in the elevator with us. If something happens to this one, we will be buying the same one as a replacement.
This is my second DX-07 chair this year. I received my first one in March of 2025 after being released from therapy.
After using it for a few months I sold it anticipating the purchase of a recliner chair. Fast forward a few months and I decided that the regular chair would best serve my needs, thus the new one. I did have a minor issue with the controller on the first chair due to my error. I contacted Rubicon Customer Service, we discussed the issue, and they immediately sent a new one under their warranty policy. I charge the battery overnight and had only one instance of it getting weak due to extensive use during the following day. A 15-20 minute charge allowed me to finish the day.
If the need should arise, I'd have no problem ordering another chair from Rubicon.
I can not believe how awesome this chair is. Scary fast, superb construction. I’m 6’1” 220 lbs. fits very comfortable. Compared with my golden cricket this unit is head and shoulders above in every way. Chair was scheduled for the 24th but came 3 days early. To say I’m ecstatic would be a mild understatement. Delivered early, completely as promised, to-say I’m over the moon happy is an understatement. Only issue I had (my fault) was connecting the batteries. Called customer support and they called back even though I didn’t leave a message.
We got this for my 94 year old mom and at first it was a little scary for her but we worked with and now she uses it a lot more easily. She still mostly uses her walker but having the chair makes it possible for her to go places that might have seemed like too much trouble before. It is amazingly maneuverable and the ability to transport it is a huge plus. Also it folds up so it doesn't take up to much space in her apartment. The folks at Rubicon were really helpful (getting us a new battery when it arrived with a dead one and giving us pointers over the phone on how to operate it). She's only had it about 2 months so we really can't speak to battery life but with everything else we've been impressed.
Although I’m a relatively healthy and active 70+ year old, I have severe back pain and mobility challenges that limit me to short walks. Our family wanted to celebrate out 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to a smoky mountain cabin. Knowing our activities would include lots of outdoor activities (lots of walking) I decided to look into purchasing a folding motorized wheelchair so I could keep up with everyone and independently scoot around at my leisure.
A quick Amazon search offered a wide variety of products from which to choose. I quickly realized I’d need to identify my top features and try to find a product to match.
I selected to purchase the Rubicon 14, and have had no regrets. It showed up nicely boxed and carefully and protectively packaged. Unboxing was uneventful and actually fun. I set it up in our living room where I had plenty of room to work. I decided that since they shipped an included tool pouch with a handful of tools to check all the obvious bolt and screw tightness. I was pleasantly surprised when there was only 1 or 2 items that needed just a smidge more tightening!
So, to review my list of requirements…
1. Electric Power. This folding powered wheelchair comes with dual 300 watt electric motors which provide plenty of power to propel this chair and occupant comfortably around standard surfaces. I really like the feature of the lever on each motor which allows you to manually roll the chair if desired. That has come in handy several times and especially when loading and unloading from my ramped carrier on the back of my vehicle.
2. Compact Size. Goes through standard doorways with room to spare. Folds up and stands in our guest room awaiting use. Folds and slips nicely into the back of our car. (See photo.)
3. Adequate Power. Carried me (and later, my wife) up and down paved trails in the mountains and on sidewalks and streets in town with plenty of power. Gear selection (or speed) makes a difference so play around with controls to see what works best for you.
4. A Reputable manufacturer. Rubicon stands behind their products no matter where you purchase yours from. It comes with a standard warranty and parts for your chair are available directly from Rubicon. Replace a motor. Replace a wheel. Most parts can be replaced if you have any mechanical ability. I have not had any issues with my chair so have not needed to contact the company.
5. Lithium Batteries. YES! These hold a charge for the day and recharge quickly. It’s nice to have the option to recharge in the chair or outside of the chair. On this trip I brought the batteries inside our rental and recharged in our bedroom, leaving the chair in our vehicle overnight.
6. Overall Comfort and a Robust Product. In my experience with my Rubicon chair, I have been seriously impressed with the quality of the design, build and operation. This chair is SOLID! Once opened, it locks in place, and that gives you a very stable platform from which to operate. It’s quiet. Yes, you can hear it run, but in my experience with powered wheelchairs, the Rubicon operates quietly and solidly. It does have an electronic horn that has come in handy a few times. This solid product does come at the price of a few more pounds, but I’ve checked comparable units and they weigh in at very similar weights. Mine is around 65 lbs including 2 batteries and small tool kit I keep in the under seat pouch. Hard to lift into my car, but I solved that issue with a set of light weight aluminum ramps. Game changer.
7. Cost. My purchase came to around $1,200 including free shipping. I discovered the next day that I could have saved $200 by buying it directly from Rubicon. Rats! No regrets. I saved several hundred dollars when I chose this unit over several other similar products I have researched online.
I bought this item for my mom who has trouble walking long distances. A regular wheel chair can be tiresome for an elderly person to operate. This chair seems very sturdy. It is easy to operate. Easy to assemble. It folds and fits in the trunk of a car. Right now it has only been used a few days. So this is an initial review. I would buy it again.
Purchased for my husband. The design and quality is good. My husband is a small man 155 lbs. 5'8" It fits him well but wouldn't recommend for a large person. It is easy to use and the speed is adequate.
